Mark Shelmerdine

From 1972 to 1990, Mark Shelmerdine was the owner of London Films, a premier British production and distribution company of films and television programs based in London and Los Angeles. London Films was originally founded in 1930 by Alexander Korda and produced such classic films as The Thief of Bagdad, The Jungle Book, Things to Come, The Four Feathers and Rembrandt. During his ownership of the company, London Films produced with the BBC a number of award-winning television drama series including I Claudius, Poldark, Testament of Youth and Therese Raquin.

As a leading independent producer, Mark Shelmerdine was heavily involved in the expansion of the independent production sector in the UK in the 1970's and 1980's and played an important role in lobbying for the establishment of Channel Four. He was a founder of the Independent Programme Producers Association, the first trade association for independent producers.

London Films was a pioneer of British television production in the US and was the first British production company to produce drama for US network television with The Scarlet Pimpernel for CBS, Kim for CBS and a co-production of Little Gloria... Happy at Last for NBC. Mark Shelmerdine also produced the last series of The Twilight Zone for CBS and MGM/UA Television.

In recent years, Mark Shelmerdine has been active in the media industry in the US and continued his pioneering work this time in the areas of virtual reality and online content. He is currently Managing Principal of Strategy+Capital Partners, a company providing strategy and capital raising services for media businesses and smaller public companies.

He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, the well-known author Susan Jeffers. He is a member of the Royal Television Society, the American Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and a founder member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in Los Angeles.

Christine Adzich

Christine Adzich is a television producer of reality and lifestyle programming, forming Big Picture Productions in 2003 to develop and produce mass-market television properties.

Prior to setting up Big Picture Productions, Adzich owned a management consulting firm that worked with high technology companies developing business and financial strategies and combining those strategies into profitable sales and marketing programs. Her expertise with small and midsize companies, turnarounds and growth companies, along with her skills as a motivational speaker, has gained Adzich an outstanding reputation as one of the top results-oriented sales executives in her field.

Adzich is a frequent guest lecturer and is a motivation and business coach to start-up business owners. She holds a B.S. in Finance and Business Management from San Jose State University.

Trevor Chenery

Over the past 25 years, Trevor Chenery has built a successful business consultancy specializing in financial, business development and management services to the media services industry. His activities cover a wide variety of sectors, including advertising and PR, marketing services, publishing, television, films and theatre.

Trevor’s entertainment industry career started with Chappell & Co., the international music and publishing group. In the 1980s, he worked on the launch of SelecTV, the UK’s first subscription television channel. Later, he worked with Mark Shelmerdine at London Film Productions to plan and implement new financial and business management systems for film and television distribution. He was later was responsible for all financial planning for the launch of Zenith Productions for Central TV.

A Chartered Accountant, Trevor is a faculty member of the Entertainment & Media Industry Group of the ICAEW and advises management boards, finance committees and trustees of organisations in the charity and not-for-profit sectors in the United Kingdom.

Stuart McFaul

Stuart McFaul has been an active player in Silicon Valley tech marketing and public relations for 28 years, developing an in-depth marketing expertise across a broad array of industries, including hardware, software, networking, telecommunications/wireless and Internet-based technologies and services.

In addition to starting Big Picture Productions in 2003, he is founder and president of Spiralgroup, a SUCCESS! Top 100 company providing marketing/PR services to nearly 100 technology clients in North America, Europe and Pacific Rim, from Fortune 100 companies such as Cisco Systems and Siebel to a variety of startups. Prior to that, he directed the worldwide public relations and related marketing efforts for such high-tech companies as Octel Communications (now Lucent), Kubota Graphics, Pyramid Technology (now Siemens-Nixdorf Computing), and Sytek (now Hughes LAN Systems).

McFaul's work has garnered several industry awards, with one program being recognized by the Smithsonian Institution as a role model for introducing complex technologies to a consumer market. He currently sits on the advisory boards of several companies and acts as an advisor to the India Community Center, the nation's largest East Indian community center.

McFaul is a guest lecturer in marketing, branding and public relations at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and has spoken internationally on those topics. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from San Jose State University.
